14.11.2025 TONY PIGOTT AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Old Holmewoodian (1966-70) and former cricketer Tony Pigott has published an autobiography.

Old Holmewoodian (1966-70) and former cricketer Tony Pigott has published an autobiography, entitled Lester and the Deckchair Revolution. Best remembered for postponing his wedding to play for his country in New Zealand, Tony's story is about much more than his on-field career with England, Sussex and Surrey.

Also covering his schooldays, at Holmewood and Harrow, his various roles in cricket administration including his eventful stint as Sussex CCC's Chief Executive, and his battles with both oesophageal cancer and diabetes, the book tells the tale of a quietly extraordinary man.

Lester and the Deckchair Revolution: The Life and Times of Tony Pigott is published by Fairfield Books. It's available to buy as a hardback or ebook from fairfieldbooks.co.uk. You can use coupon code FAIRFIELD25 at the checkout to get 25% off the hardback edition.

We are very excited to invite Tony back to Holmewood in the new year!
